Alfonso Caldera is a W.S.F. World Salsa Champion & International Mayan Salsa Champion dancer. He is the director and choreographer of Bravo Dance Company and founder of Bravodancecompany.com. Alfonso was born in Nicaragua and was surrounded by salsa music at a very young age. He started dancing Salsa 15 years ago in Vancouver and then went on to train with the world famous dance team, Rumba Brava. Through the years Alfonso competed in some of the top salsa competitions where he consistently placed in the top three, including the Miami World Salsa Federation competition, winning the championship trophy. Alfonso has developed a unique style of dancing, LA-style Salsa which is prevalent in his teaching technique both in his classes and instructional videos.
Alfonso has been teaching Salsa for ten years and his motivation, energy, and love for the dance have made him successful, recognized and respected in the salsa scene.

"Growing up in Nicaragua I remember listening to the Latin orchestras that would play at parties near my home. The rhythm of the congas captivated me and I began to develop a deep interest in music at a young age. My father noticed my growing interest in this exciting style of music and gave me my first record by Sonora Matancera. That record introduced me to what would become my passion. In my opinion, salsa is the main ingredient to feeling good. It has given me confidence and strength; it got me in shape and has helped me to stay healthy in body and mind and thats why I want to share my passion and experience with all my students.
In my classes you can expect to have fun. It is very important to me that everyone has fun because thats what dancing is all about. All of my combinations are broken down step-by-step so you can learn them with ease. If you are more experienced I will help you improve your technique and form through more challenging and complex combinations that will make you into a truly skilled dancer. Learning salsa with me youll receive all the tools you need to understand and quickly learn. Once you have mastered the basics you will be ready to learn a variety of combinations and know how execute them with precision. Most importantly, it's not just about copying dance steps, I will teach you to move like a true salsa dancer."

Cancelled Classes
1- Classes will run weekly for the duration of the 12 week course, excluding certain statutory holidays.
2- All cancelled classes will be indicated on the Reminders page of the website.
3- A cancelled class can be made up at one of the other locations unless otherwise specified.
General Rules
1- Each student participating in Bravo Dance Company's salsa classes must fill out and sign a waiver form at the start of each course.
2- Depending on the number of students present by the designated start time of each location, class may sometimes start and end up to 15 minutes later to allow latecomers the chance not to miss any important instruction, or interrupt the class.
3- Payment for the course is non-refundable. There will be no credit given for unused/missed classes.
