Born in Nicaragua, Alfonso was surrounded by salsa music at a very young age. He began dancing salsa and then went on to train with the World Famous Dance Team, Rumba Brava.Alfonso is a W.S.F. World Salsa Champion & International Mayan Salsa Champion dancer.Alfonso has taught Latin dancing for over 20 years. His motivation, energy, and LOVE for dancing have made him successful and well-recognized in the Latin dance scene!Through the years, Alfonso competed in some of the top salsa competitions where he consistently placed in the top three, including the Miami World Salsa Federation competition, winning the championship trophy.He is the founder, director, and choreographer of Bravo Dance Company.Alfonso has developed a unique style of dancing, the BRAVO Style! A style that is sharp, clean with control, and FLAVOR!
Dancer and Choreographer
Jessica has been dancing since the age of three. Her passion and natural ability in dance were evident even at that age. She trained in various styles such as ballet, jazz, hip-hop, tap dancing, and contemporary.Jessica represented Canada two years in a row at the World Tap Championships in Riesa, Germany. However, it wasn’t until later did she discover the dance that would change her life; salsa.Wanting the best training she could get, Jessica discovered Bravo Dance Company. Training directly under Artistic Director, Alfonso Caldera, she was invited to join his professional team.Not long after the opportunity arose, Jessica became Alfonso’s official dance partner. After competing and successfully winning the World Salsa Championship in the professional division, she’s represented Vancouver, Canada at many local and international events including World Latin Dance Cups and congresses.Since that time Jessica has also appeared in music videos with Michael Buble, and Emily Harder, dancing for Jose Alberto, and on the TV series, Smallville.Filled with fire and a love for dance, Jessica was hired as a dancer on the Disney Cruise Lines, trained by top choreographers based out of Toronto. Receiving many awards and scholarships throughout her dancing career, as a choreographer, she has landed many overall high scores as well as choreography awards.Jessica continues to fulfill her dreams by choreographing, teaching, performing internationally, and giving workshops at a number of top studios.
